Cedeira (pop. 7595) is bound on the west and north by the Atlantic Ocean , on the east by Ortigueira, and on the south by Valdoviño.  The town offers visitors beautiful white sand beaches such as A Magdalena, right in the center of town.  With a 1900 meter long span of sand and tree covered dunes, the beach is complete with First Aid and Lifeguard stations and is the perfect site for an afternoon of taking in the sun's rays or bathing in tranquil waters.

By walking through Cedeira, it is easy to become  acquainted with its historic district.  The town has a medieval center and narrow, inclined streets with its history forever marked on many of the shields that adorn the facades of several old and noble buildings.  The Condomiñas River harmoniously divides the historic and modern urban areas.
